Well, I did get back to work, so I've been indulging myself in some new critters this spring. I've decided to go in the direction of pink-blue-purple-white spideries, and a number of my new ones reflect that. I have added several "blues" that I've long lusted after...Dana Townsend, Doyle Pierce, Mrs John Cooper, Captain Blue, some interesting patterns--Gerda Brooker, Sugar Plum Jam, some white spideries--Margo Reed Indeed and Linda Ball's new Song of Myself.
As you see, I have my "hybridizing goals" highly refined and focused! |

I think that sounds like a great plan Merry! Those are my favorite colors too. You've got a nice line up to work with.
A few yrs ago, I loaded up on several of the older blue eyed beauties....Eyes a Blue, Delta Blues, Tremor and others...only to find that I just didn't have room to work with dips and tets, so the tets got nudged. I made crosses and didn't have enough room to plant but a few of them. But I was still dying to know how some of them would turn out, so they should bloom this year and I can get that out of my system. LOL Won't be able to keep any of them, and will have to enjoy the blue eyed beauties from someone elses garden from now on.

Thanks, Peggy. I have space issues too.
What I laughingly refer to as Flamingo Acres is actually lots of great big pots on my driveway and my deck. I currently have about 140-150 varieties, and I'm pretty much maxed out. I'm trying to adopt out some of the ones that don't fit into my program, and I have room for a FEW more. But I suspect that, come fall, I'll have a few seeds on the Lily Auction ![]() But the lure is almost irresistible, isn't it! I don't have anything that I expect to bloom this year, but I have some 16-month-old youngsters from seeds that Bob Wilson very kindly sent me a couple of years ago. The year after THAT, I should have something of my own, I'm hoping. Even though my collection was pretty restricted when I made those crosses, there still might be something pretty enough to keep. Not expecting any Stout Medal winners

like the colors and benefits, I just wish it'd begin a little better. It's been through the damage of distribution this spring plus I have it in a very little pot right now because I'm going this few times, so I'm not having anything against it.

Welcome to Tinkers! Hedgenursery
Glad you're not selling nfl jerseys, crystals or prada bags! Nothing but a few late bloomers here. So hot and dry....I give them credit for blooming when I'm sure they'd just like to curl up and die. Here is another new one from a trade with Bob Faulkner... Switched at Birth ![]() |
